1. Only 1/10 came back. But for that one, he would have come.

(Luke 17:11 NIV)

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

(ルカ 17:11 ALIVE訳)

(Luke 17:15-19 NIV)

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. (16) He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. (17) Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? (18) Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” (19) Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

(ルカ 17:15-19 JCB)

-all 10 healed, but only 1 thankful, worshipping. -Imagine 1/10 in Japan = 13 million new believers!

2. God is seeking worshippers (one-by-one … including you and me)

(John 4:23 NIV)

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

(Ephesians 1:4-5 NIV)

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love (5) he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—

(John 6:65 NIV)

He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”

(ヨハネ 6:65 JCB)

3. So… what do we need to know about inviting?

1.We’ll never know who will respond – “Don’t know, Never will”

2.Wipe off the dust – and keep inviting

(Galatians 3:26-27 NLT)

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (27) And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.

(John 8:1-11 NLT)

Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, (2) but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. (3) As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. (4) “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. (5) The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” (6) They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. (7) They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” (8) Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. (9) When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. (10) Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” (11) “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

I’m Protected In Jesus

(1 ヨハネ 2:1 JCB)

(1 John 2:1 NLT)

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

I’m Free In Jesus

(ローマ 8:1 JCB)

(Romans 8:1 NLT)

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

(2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

I Walk In Jesus

(ヨハネ 14:10 JCB)

(John 14:10 NLT)

Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.

(Romans 8:38-39 NLT)

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. (39) No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now I’m a Believer in Jesus, How Do I Change My “Stinking Thinking?”

(John 10:10 Passion) A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!

What did Jesus say to people about their new “full” lives?
Story 1: Woman with a painful past smells amazing now
(Luke 7:48-50 NIV) Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” (49) The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” (50) Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Story 2: Crazy guy healed & returning home with a great story
(Luke 8:35-39 NIV) and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. (36) Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed man had been cured. (37) Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, (39) “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Story 3: Lady caught in a bad situation finds surprise protector
(John 8:10-11 NIV) Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” (11) “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Renewing of the mind overcomes “stinking thinking”
(Romans 12:1-2 NIV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

How? 3 Tools to change “stinking thinking”
1.Think on The Bible
(Joshua 1:8 NIV) Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
(Psalm 1:2-3 NIV) but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. (3) That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

2.Accept Water Baptism
(Romans 6:4-6 NLT) For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (5) Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. (6) We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

3.Take Communion with absolute confidence of his foreignness & healing
(1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NLT) For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread (24) and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (25) In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” (26) For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.

(1 Corinthians 11:27 NLT) So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

Eat and drink “unworthily” = “Stinking thinking” eg. “I am not good enough”.
“worthily” is right thing = right thinking

(Romans 8:1-2,5-6 Voice) Therefore, now no condemnation awaits those who are living in Jesus the Anointed, the Liberating King, (2) because when you live in the Anointed One, Jesus, a new law takes effect. The law of the Spirit of life breathes into you and liberates you from the law of sin and death. (5) If you live your life animated by the flesh—namely, your fallen, corrupt nature—then your mind is focused on the matters of the flesh. But if you live your life animated by the Spirit—namely, God’s indwelling presence—then your focus is on the work of the Spirit. (6) A mind focused on the flesh is doomed to death, but a mind focused on the Spirit will find full life and complete peace.

The Honor Code
1. Serve 仕える
(Romans 6:16-18 NLT) Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. (17) Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. (18) Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.

(1 Samuel 2:30b) But I will honor those who honor me…

2. Trust 信頼
(Matthew 25:20-30 NLT) “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ (21) His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ (22) He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ (23) His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ (24) “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. (25) And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ (26) “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. (27) So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. (28) Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. (29) ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. (30) And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
(Luke 17:11-17 NLT) Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. (12) Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. (13) And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” (14) So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. (15) And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, (16) and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. (17) So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? (18) Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” (19) And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Adopted As Sons

(Ephesians 1:3-6 MSG) How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.

-Blessings all around
-Called to be adopted
-3 important things to know about adoption law.

(1) The adopted person lost all rights to his old family. In law, the old life of the adopted person was completely wiped out. For instance, legally all debts were cancelled; they were wiped out as though they had never been.

(2) The adopted person gained all the rights of a fully legitimate son in his new family. In every way, and in the most legally binding way, he got a new Father and family name.

(3) It followed that he became heir to his new father’s estate. Even if other sons were afterwards born, who were real blood relations, it did not affect his rights. He was co-heir with them.

So …

1. We are taken out of the family of Satan. He has no more claim upon us.
2. We have The Father’s name and authority put upon us.
3. We have access to the Father at all times.
4. We have been chosen by the Father’s delight, and continually live in his love.
5. The Father protects you.
6. The Father provides for you.
7. The Father educates all His children till they become mature. This includes learning and discipline.
8. Lastly, we are co-heirs with Jesus.

(Romans 8:17 NKJV) and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

So … let’s live like sons!

Eagle Christians

(Isaiah 40:30-31 NKJV) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, (31)But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

1.Born to Fly!
(Genesis 1:27 NKJV) So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

(Romans 5:1-2 NKJV) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, (2)through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

(Romans 5:8-11 NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (9)Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. (10)For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. (11)And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

(2 Peter 1:3 NKJV) as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

2. Learning to Fly

(Deuteronomy 32:11) “like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.”

(Ezekiel 36:27 NKJV) I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

3.Renewed to Fly again

(Psalms 103:5 NKJV) Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
